Hi! I just introduced myself in "Hello from Minnesota" but I'll make a quick intro here too. My husband, 9 and 11 year old kids and I live in Central Minnesota in a small city. We have gardened for the last 13 years of our marriage, and a little before. We have always been inspired by organic farmers, but now we're so delighted to be urban homesteading and realizing we don't have to leave city life and its benefits in order to grow most of our own food. We have at least quadrupled our garden this year including planting many fruit trees and shrubs. We also just got four hens. We're in love with all of it! Nice to be part of such an awesome forum.

Glad to be here! I am married to a wonderful man and we have children that keep us on our toes. We have a 1/2 acre and I'm finally really getting going on making it mine. We live in a rural area right in the middle of a small town. Our soil needs a lot of work but I am having success in spite of it. All of my friends are really into gardening all of a sudden. It seems to be all we talk about. We're pooling our knowledge and amazing things are happening! I am a chicken fan and my latest batch are my two favorite breeds, Buff Orpington and Black Australorp. They're good layers year round and the Buffs are good broody hens. I would love to be a homesteader but dh is NOT the type. He just smiles at me when I tell him all about my latest earth mama scheme!

Oh, guess I didn't introduce myself.
I grew up in Pasadena, CA as well (small world!), lived in the Inland Empire for about 20 years then moved to central Oklahoma three years ago. The weather is really different and I'm still getting used to it gardening-wise.
Married with three teenagers, on 0.8 acre (never had so much land in my life!) and trying to learn to garden here. We have two satin angora rabbits, and I'm learning to spin their fur. I also like knitting and crocheting, cooking and growing herbs. I just got the rabbits in April but they are the best pets you could ask for.
My DH isn't much into my stuff either, but he loves the rabbits and spoils them rotten. lol

I'm looking for a source of organic seed potatoes here in Pasadena. I'll be attending the "Meetup"on the 25th so if YOU have some, we can meet there.
I hope to receive a response here.
Thank you in advance,
Stan & Kim McClain-
Johnston Lake, Pasadena
